I kick started my professional life as a mechanical engineering undergrad and got my degree sometime in 2001. I did have a lot of interest in the subject and would still like to work on all the cool automibile and machine design stuff, given a chance :)
But somewhere down the line I got introduced to computers. Yes, I had never even turned on a computer until I was in the 2nd year of mechanical engineering :). Though initially I knew nothing, I slowly fell in love with the stuff and my interest in coding and computers started increasing exponentially. I knew what I wanted to do for a living right away. That is when i decided to get some formal education on the subject and that I did.

I got a Masters in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore. I graduated in the year 2004. My specialisation and interests were information retrieval, data mining, machine learning and related subjects.
